Pettersen 1

Tom Pettersen, from Norway, sends a few pictures of his 1953, body # 767. Still a lot of work to do, but he feels that the worst part was replacing the floor pans with all the correct patterns. This Skylark was bought in CA in 1987, but he did not start restoration until 2001. Buying parts for his 1957 Buick back in the 70's and early 80's, he wrote to Mike Fusick, Bill Stitt and Glenn Cecchine having parts shipped by boat to Norway. He says, "It is more fun visiting Carlisle and Hershey to pick up the parts myself!" He thinks he needs at least two more years to finish the Skylark, which will have the original exterior white with white/red interior.
Ola Sjogren Ola Sjogren's 1953 Skylark. He is a new member from Sweden, and bought this car recently from Florida. He plans to do a minor renovation, not show class. He believes there are about 5 Skylarks in Sweden.

van der Put old

quarter panel van der Put new
Art van der Put, from The Netherlands, collects American convertibles from the fiftees, only in red. After a '59 Chevrolet Impala and a '58 Edsel Pacer this Skylark is his third red convertible. The Skylark was bought through Ebay after an inspection was carried out by a third party in Canada. It was a rough, older restoration. His aim is to further restore it into a class 2 car. The project will be done in Canada, since it will be much cheaper and easier than doing it in The Netherlans. Some of the work to be done: technical overhaul where necessary, new wire wheels, chrome redone, new top and the addition of an aftermarket continental kit. The car has been soda blasted, primed and repainted. He is very excited about this car, which he considers "to be one of the most beautiful models made in the fiftees."
